Chris Runs for (from?) Sparks

Congratulations to Chris Burgess for a bloody good show in the Marathon! Here it is in his own words:

Well, after a lot of training, blood, sweat and tears, I ran the New York City Marathon in a time of 3hrs 23 mins - a time that absolutely flabbergasted me! I was aiming for sub-4 hours and somehow managed to get carried away with the hype, excitement and adrenalin of the big day to run that time. That time meant I finished in 3299th place out of 40,000. I also came 439th in my age group.

It was one of the most amazing days of my life. Whilst I never want to ever attempt a marathon again (I’m told this view will change,) I have never experienced anything like that occasion before. The sheer number of people who came out to watch and cheer all the runners on was breathtaking.

Thank you Farmers for your individual donations in addition to The Farm’s contribution - your money is not only going to a fantastic cause, but you spurred me on when I really didn’t feel like training and pushed me on during the race when my legs were starting to cave in. Thanks so much!!

Weekend Update: Farmers Vote, Rock and Fly

Have you seen the stopandvote.com site? Go now and look at where this once modest idea to raise young voter awareness has gone. Our interns had great ideas and energy, but this terrific creative execution could only come from full grown Farmers! We’ll kick off the movement with some Farm fanfare tomorrow at 5. Socially Conscious Cocktail Friday. We’ll present the site and give everyone the opportunity to load a picture and make their own statement. Great job to the many Farmers who worked on this project and Ray who championed it. Keep watching the FLICKR  album.

And remember BAD GUY has a show on Saturday night at Lit. Alexander’s aerialist show ABOVE THE BELT begins it’s weekly run this Sunday.

Live…or Undead?

The Zombifier is now live at www.kiwee.com

Kiwee’s parent company, American Greetings asked the Farmers to create some custom content following the success of the “Click or Treat” and “Halloweenies” applications, also by The Concept Farm. With the Zombifier Users can upload a photo, “zombify” it, and then post it on their MySpace page. They can even send each other their very own monster movie.  Check it out:
